If you have ever heard of reiki massage, that word use is two completely separate services provided in one session. Massage may be focused most of the time, while reiki energy work utilizes the rest of the session or visa versa. When you experience reiki as a service, it starts by the Reiki Master or provider generating energy or acting as a channel for the energy to flow through. It is common for reiki practitioners to act as a channel. When someone like myself practices reiki daily, that energy builds into hot energy. Hot energy is great for healing practices. With generating this personal strength, the practitioner is able to strengthen their individual connection with you. This enhanced for of reiki practices allows the provider stronger intent with greater focus and control. Self generated reiki should be practiced by advanced providers. Either type of reiki is great for transferring energy to the receiver. The provider acts as a conduit as the energy source is used to positively influence the energy of the person receiving energy work.
Here's an example of reiki that can help clarify a few things. Think about how our bodies are biological computers. We generate a small portion of electricity that is essential for the brain to function. When your daily movement produces enough friction. That friction can charge the electricity in your body causing you to shock something or someone. That's a type of energy transference.
Here's another example. Think about a time when you were lost in thought and then your head directly turns and instantly meets eye contact with another person whom you may or may not know. In addition, there may have been a time where you called someone you were thinking about. They respond by saying something like "I was just thinking or talking about you!" Whether you know the person well or not, these examples are a type of energy communication.
Reiki works similarly to the examples above. Energy can be either hot or cold. Since Reiki services are used mostly for healing, hot energy is commonly felt. Reiki is solely focused on energy work to help cleanse, influence healing, purge negative energy, and reinforce positive energy. Regular Reiki sessions help to increase your supply of personal energy. During sessions, the provider needs to focus on the goals of the energy work. It is recommended to not talk during these sessions because of the amount of focus that is required. Communication can break the flow of the work. Remaining completely relaxed and open during your Reiki sessions is important. It is strongly recommended to put aside any skepticism because skeptical energy creates blockages and barriers that make the work more difficult for the provider. In order to experience the best results possible, having an open mind while focusing on meditating is key. As you relax, you will feel comfortable and more at peace while the work is being done. This type of work is meant to work with your personal energy and provide positive influence by helping to speed up the natural processes of your body. Although Reiki has incredible and beneficial results, it is not meant to replace anything prescribed by or to dismiss the practice of a licensed medical professional.
There are many ways to do Reiki work. Most Reiki providers may channel energy through their hands through the use of a light touch, fluid motions or a standstill technique near the body of the receiver. The provider uses his or her own energy to help unclog or positively influence the energy of the receiver. During this time, the receiver may be able to notice the change of the energy. It is commonly recognized by a sense of heat or airy flow from the energy transference. Reiki is becoming a more accepted practice because research has shown that the activity of parasympathetic autonomic nervous system in the receiver increases significantly.
