After Your Self Care Sessions: Within two hours after each session, it's recommended to do an Epsom salt soak or other natural method of sweating except exercise in order to help your body detox. Our recommendation for soaking with Epsom salts is to put two cups of Epsom salts such as Dr. Teal's Epsom Salt Soaking Solution in a standard size tub, fill with Luke warm water, and soak for about 30 minutes. Make sure to have plenty of water close to you for drinking since you will sweat in the tub. When finished, you may feel a little light-headed, so ensure that you get out of the tub slowly.
High Priority Recommendations: Even if you do not soak with Epsom salts after your session, it is strongly recommended to follow a 24 hour period of rest and relaxation after your session. Stay away from consumables that cause dehydration such as coffee, tea, alcohol, and soda. Your body will be in recovery mode, so make sure to drink about a gallon of water (128 fl oz) within 24 hours to encourage flow in and to detox your body. If you take medications or supplements, keep taking them. Just make sure to drink more than a gallon of water to prevent dehydration from the compounded effects on your body. Avoid any strenuous activity such as heavy lifting, running, jumping, swimming, etc. After 24 hours you are usually ok to return back to your normal routine unless you have any injuries. Injuries require the 24 hour protocol to be extended to approximately 3 to 5 days of proper recover time.
