Yoga helps to strengthen body. If practiced properly, yoga will help balance the tissue on both sides of your body. With this balanced experience, it will be easier for you to maintain good posture while reducing pain. Pain is often experienced due to imbalances in the body. The body will do whatever necessary to try and maintain balance including distributing inflammation which triggers pain receptors. These pain receptors are annoying but very important because they are one of the ways our bodies communicate with us. Better balance in your body will also help you feel more in sync. Being more aware and in control of your self can help improve your coordination, reduce pain, and decrease the risk of falling.
